You have to make affirmations. Affirmations affirm what God says about you. What you repeat to yourself over and over again is accepted by your subconscious mind as a command. There are 3 P's to affirmations:
1. It must be PERSONAL. All really good affirmations begin with the word "I", I can, I am, I can do, I feel happy, I feel healthy.
2. It must be in the PRESENT tense. In other words you don't say I will quite smoking or drinking. Neither do you say "I will earn a good living, or I will be happy. You should say, I am happy, I am a non smoker or a non drinker. You say it today as if it were in the now. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1)."
3. It's POSITIVE. Instead of saying I will not drink or smoke anymore, say "I am a non drinker or a non smoker." The subconscious mind will sort out and delete the negatives. Affirmations are the key. A key to success is to talk about the things you want and refuse to talk about the things that you don't want. "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock. And my Redeemer (Psalms 19:14)." You must say to yourselves and to others that which is consistent with who God says you are
