Let's look at the miracle:
We see the cure. "At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked (John 5:9)."
We see the criticism. "The day on which this took place was the Sabbath, and so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, 'It is the Sabbath, the law forbids you to carry your mat (John 5:9b-10).'"
Wouldn't you think everyone would be happy? But here comes the religious police. It doesn't matter what anyone says, enjoy your miracle.
We see the challenge. "Later Jesus Found him At The temple and said to him, 'See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you (John 5:14)." He was in church. Jesus challenges him to not to go back into the world and do as the world does. "The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well (John 5:15)."
