I want to spend the rest of the week looking at Gideon. You will see through Gideon just how big God is. "The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash and Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites (Judges6:11)." The promised land has a problem. The Midianites are the problem. They have come in and stripped the Israelites of everything. "When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, 'The Lord is with you, mighty warrior (Judges 6:12)." The promise land has a person. God comes to the Israelites in the form of Gideon. He's not a mighty warrior, he doesn't even belief that God is big enough to know who he is. He says, "If the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all His wonders our Father told us about? The Lord has abandoned us, put us in the hand of the Midianites (Judges 6:13)." Gideon has a very insecure mindset of himself. He's focused on the strength of the Midianites. What are you focused on? How big is your God? Change your focus. Free your mind and the rest will follow.
