"We all, like sheep, have gone astray. We've turned to our own way (Isaiah 53:6)." We are all runaways (prodigal sons). Home is a place of grace (what the son didn't realize is that the home was a place of grace). Homes in the days of Jesus was called "Insula." This is where we get our English word insular. Insular means relating to or a dwelling. "In my Father's house are many rooms (He's describing heaven as a huge insula). If it were not so, I would have told you. I'm going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am (John 14:2-3)." Heaven is a dwelling where people can relate because there is a common denominator. "Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God trust in me (John 14:1)." There's no place like home.
