We've looked at what you SEE through suffering. Now let's look at what people SAY in suffering:
A. Accusations against God. "Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression (Psalms 44:24)?" He is talking to God. "Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever (Psalms 44:23)." He says, get up God, why are you being lazy? God doesn't like dishonest prayers. Tell God how you feel.
B. People tell their feelings towards their enemies. "Arise, O Lord! Deliver me, o my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked (Psalms 3:7)." In other words, he's saying, God knock their teeth out. "Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the grave, for evil finds lodging among them (Psalms 55:15)." He's saying, God bury them alive. God wants to give you strength to love your enemy. He cannot do this until you give him all of your hatred. There's not enough room in your heart for both hatred and love. You have to be honest and lament before a loving God.
